How We Work
Fraser Valley Mold provides mold inspection, air quality testing and remediation for homes and small commercial buildings across the central Fraser Valley. We live with the same climate you do: a wet season that runs from October to March, housing stock heavy on 1970s and 1980s construction, and the condensation, attic and crawlspace problems that combination produces. Our work is shaped by that local reality rather than by generic playbooks written for drier places.
Three commitments define every job we take:
- Diagnose before quoting. Every remediation scope starts from an actual moisture investigation, not from a glance and a guess. If the honest answer is "this is a $40 ventilation timer and an afternoon of cleaning," that is the answer you get.
- Fix causes, not symptoms. Removal without moisture correction is redecorating. Our scopes include the venting, drainage, sealing or ventilation fix that stops the regrowth cycle, and our quotes say so explicitly so you can compare line by line.
- Firm written quotes. The price you approve is the price you pay. Where opening things up could reveal more (it sometimes does), the quote says what happens then, before we start.
What We Don't Do
We don't use fear to sell. Mold marketing is full of toxic-black-mold theatre designed to turn a $600 problem into a $6,000 invoice. Health Canada's position is the sensible one: indoor mold should be removed and its moisture source corrected regardless of species, and the response should be proportional to the size of the problem. Small problem, small fix, honest advice; big problem, proper containment and a thorough job. If a patch is genuinely a safe DIY cleanup, we will tell you that for free on the phone.
We also don't inflate testing. Lab sampling is valuable when it answers a real question (hidden growth, real estate documentation, clearance after remediation) and a waste of your money when the mold is right there on the wall. You will only ever be quoted sampling with a reason attached.
Where We Work
Our core service area is Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Mission, Langley, Aldergrove, Maple Ridge, and the rural communities between them. See the local pages for Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Mission and Langley, or just call; if you are in the valley, we almost certainly cover you.
Start With a Conversation
Most calls begin the same way: something smells musty, something turned black, or a home inspector wrote a worrying sentence. Describe it to us and we will tell you what it probably is, whether it is urgent, and what the sensible next step costs. No pressure, no drama, and both contact paths (phone and the quote form) reach people who can actually answer questions.
